It is believed that bannock was introduced to Indigenous peoples in the early 18th & 19th centuries during the fur trade by Scottish fur traders. Bannock became a staple in Indigenous diet due to the rations they were given. There are many ways to prepare bannock: fry bread, baked, in a cast iron frying pan, but we will show a simple and tasty recipe for bannock on a stick. A tasty treat you can enjoy with butter, syrup, jam or cinnamon sugar. Delish! Foraging along the trail to discover what plant life is around and in season included.
